A New Day

Good Morning...Today is another day. Grandma slept the majority of the day yesterday. Mommy & Daddy was up last night to help her go to the bathroom. She didn't eat much yesterday at all, Daddy said about a 1/2 egg and then Mommy was able to get her to eat a little pudding. I can tell she is getting weak, she has a hard time standing up to transfer. But Mommy & Daddy are handling it. Daddy promised Grandpa he would take care of Grandma and that is what he is doing.
Not much else is going on around the house. Take care and keep Grandma in your prayers.
Love ya...Keyron

Catching Up

Hi everyone I am sorry I have not posted, Mommy hasn't let me on the computer lately. She and Daddy have been taking care of Grandma. Grandma is not doing very well. She is getting weak. Aunt Alice came in for Mothers Day and that cheered her up, but she still sleeps most of the day. Sometimes it is hard for her to get her words out and then again sometimes you have to try to figure out what she is thinking or what she wants to say. As for eating it is a day by day thing. Uncle Lyle was in last Monday and by the time he was ready to leave, she was having a hard time talking. And she was ready to go lay down and sleep. This last weekend Uncle Vinnie & Aunt Hazel was in. She was really happy to see them. But Sunday afternoon, she got sick. It was a challenge for Mommy & Daddy to get her to the bathroom. She is having a hard time standing, so you really have to hang onto her. She keeps saying how she wants to go be with Grandpa.
I better go Daddy is ready to take me outside and boy do I need to go, it was a long night.
bye....Keyron

Catch Up

Wow I cannot believe it is the end of the month. Grandma is wishing for warm weather. She & Mommie talked to Uncle Vinnie a couple days ago & they had ice in Mountain View, MO. He had to drive in it. It took him about 8 hours to drive about 200 miles on Wednesday. He said he had about 3-4 inches of ice on his truck when he got back to town to park the BIG truck & head for home. On top of that ice was about 3-4 inches of snow. So it took a while to get it off so he could drive home. Aunt Hazel said the electricity flickered a couple times but did not lose power.

Then Grandma & Mommie spoke to Aunt Alice, she is VERY glad she is not working as she had ice & snow also. She did not lose power, but she said there was so much ice & snow on her driveway you could not tell where the driveway ended & the grass started. Wow that is a lot, but you know me, I would love to be out in it. I guess it is the fur I have...hehe!!!

Grandma was worried about Uncle Lyle since she heard that Shreveport was getting cold weather, so Mommie send an email to him. Well he responded....They are in Florida in 80 degree weather with the kids. I know Grandma would love that temperature, but I think I will stick with the cold weather here. I LOVE IT!!!

I think that takes care of everyone out in the bad weather.

On another note, Aunt Mary is working strange hours, 1:30pm to 10pm. Yes I said those are strange hours. Everyone here is in bed by 8:30-9pm I don't think Mommie could stay up that long. I know she said there is some good by those hours, she can go to 8:15am Mass sometimes & hit her quilting circle on Wednesday mornings.

Mommie wants me to put her 2 cents in, the Super Bowl is this Sunday....It is the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizonia Cardinals. Well she is hoping the Cardinals will win!!! At work today they had their own "Soup"er Bowl Party. I know it is a play on words..LOL!! They had 5 different kinds of soup. She said it went over well. Once Daddy downloads the pictures I will try to post some later.

Oh yeah, don't forget that Feb 2nd is Groundhog Day, will he see his shadow? I guess we will have to wait & see.

Catch Up

Wow here it is 2009 and it has been a while since I posted. Mommy said she has received a few comments from some people. So sit back, prop your paws up, have a drink and I hope you enjoy.
Thanksgiving was great. Daddy had deep fried a couple turkeys. Oh so juicy, but I didn't get any. Mommy had the table sit and it looked fabulous. There was Grandma, Aunt Alice, Uncle Vinnie & Aunt Hazel, and Daddy. Then Mommy found out that my cousins Scott and Shawn were coming. So they all squeezed around the table. I know that Grandma really enjoyed it.

Here is Mommy getting stuff ready to start cooking.

One of the nice juicy turkeys.

Back in the 1970's, that was way before my time. Scott & Shawn's Mom Barb made this turkey platter for Grandma. She has used it when the family has turkey to serve. Mommie couldn't help but take a picture of it.

Here is everyone sitting around the table.

As most of you know Aunt Alice crochets, embroideries, and quilts....many of you have received afghans, baby quilts, and anniversary quilts from her. Well she mentioned to Daddy sometimes the light is just not bright enough. Daddy happened to be at Harbor Freight and found this light that goes around your head. She loved it. She says she uses it when she has a lot of detailed work. Mommie told her she looks like a dork!!!

When my Grandpa was living, Aunt Mary use to take Grandma & Grandpa to Chanute for Christmas dinner with his brothers & sister. Now it is hard for Grandma to travel, so they meet at Aunt Mary's house. So the Saturday after Thanksgiving Great-Aunt Anna & Bob, Great-Uncle Carl, Great-Uncle Jack & Great-Aunt Joan traveled to Aunt Mary's house. Mommy's Godmother, Theresa Best, also came. She is a first cousin to them and lives in Shawnee. They took some pictures and had a nice dinner.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of Christmas, we really didn't do anything, just lounged around and watched TV.

That is just about it for now. I will leave you with a couple pictures of me. I just love laying on the bed. Daddy caught me before Mommie could get the bed made.
